2011 CALI Conference: Call for Speakers
**** CALL FOR SPEAKERS *****
The 21st Annual Conference for Law School Computing
Marquette University Law School
Thursday - Saturday
June 23-25, 2011
Conference website at http://conference.cali.org/2011
The theme for this year's conference is ....
UNBOUND
The possibilities of using tech in legal education are endless - net
access is nearly ubiquitous, wireless and cheap. Disk space is cheap
and abundant. Tools are powerful and (many) free or open source. But
life is an onion and so when we peel back one layer of problems, we
reveal a different layer of challenges. Our challenge is to
prioritize our limited resources of time, skill and attention and
apply them to our institutional goals - better legal education. How
we translate our unbound opportunities into real-world projects,
systems and customer service is how we will be measured.
Come to CALICon11 and learn how law schools and your colleagues are
meeting that challenge.
For 21 years, the CALI Conference has organized its schedule at nearly
the last minute in order to bring the most relevant and up-to-date
presentations to attendees. This year is no different and we are
looking for people with strong opinions, great ideas, interesting
projects and useful advice. Come and share and be challenged. If you
are willing and able to speak, your conference registration fee is
FREE!
All sessions are 1 hour long. Everything will be recorded and posted
later. We are looking into whether or not some sessions will be
webcast.
To propose a session, just visit
- http://conference.cali.org/2011,
- login with your CALI account, and
- click on the “Propose a session” link.
Sessions need to be submitted by Friday April 1, 2011. All sessions
need to be submitted through the CALI conference website.
We are going to do something different with selecting sessions this
year: you get to vote for sessions you would like to see on the
conference agenda. Starting on Monday February 28, 2011, voting will
be opened and will remain open until Friday April 29, 2011. To vote
you will just need to login to the conference website and vote for the
session you would like to see on the agenda. You do not need to be
registered for the conference to vote.
We will notify speakers via email by May 6, 2011 if their session is
approved. The listing of approved sessions will be posted on the
conference website on May 6, 2011.
Conference hotel and registration information is also available at
http://conference.cali.org/2011.
$395 for attendees from CALI member law schools
$795 for everyone else
