aces2 and IE8

Hey all,
I haven't found a ton of posts in the archives about the current situation
with IE8 and ACES2. Where does access via that browser version stand right
now? Any workarounds in terms of compatibility mode or hacks with Windows 7
and its required IE8?

thanks

aces2 and IE8

Allan,

I received this from LSAC in reply to my inquiry on this same topic. Our Admissions team has had no trouble with IE8 so far this summer.

---
There are a number of law schools currently using IE8 with ACES2. We are still resolving some issues that come up along the way but we have resolved any major issues with ACES2 and IE and Law School Support Services is supporting that version of IE. If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact me, thanks.

RE: aces2 and IE8

The next question to ask is if they are working on making it IE9 compatible. Public Beta starts September 15th, so I would hope they'd start making the necessary code changes and get ready for 9 when it drops.

I PRAY it will be standards compliant. I will be so happy at work!! Woot!

BUT, us RedDot users and developers will not benefit from IE9 as RedDot
is built on the brokeness (that a word?) of IE6, 7, and 8.

Is it not at all relevant to modified discussion that whereas IE8 is
integrated into Win 7, IE9 is not? Such that we should be able to stay on
IE8? I am presuming that will be an option...

I can't imagine them changing the way "out-of-band" IE upgrades go.

IE9 is supposed to be totally standards compliant

Hahaha.

Ahem. Yes. Well, I'm certainly glad they're at least trying now. Though, I'll save my judgement for when it's released.

IE9 is supposed to be totally standards compliant, so if it works in Firefox and Chrome, it should work in IE9. Our Admissions program assistant has Win7, and therefore IE8. I don't think she has FF on the machine, which means she uses IE8 solely for ACES2 with no trouble that I know of.

The next question to ask is if they are working on making it IE9 compatible. Public Beta starts September 15th, so I would hope they'd start making the necessary code changes and get ready for 9 when it drops.

Allan,

I received this from LSAC in reply to my inquiry on this same topic. Our Admissions team has had no trouble with IE8 so far this summer.

There are a number of law schools currently using IE8 with ACES2. We are still resolving some issues that come up along the way but we have resolved any major issues with ACES2 and IE and Law School Support Services is supporting that version of IE. If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact me, thanks.

Hey all,
I haven't found a ton of posts in the archives about the current situation with IE8 and ACES2. Where does access via that browser version stand right now? Any workarounds in terms of compatibility mode or hacks with Windows 7 and its required IE8?

thanks
