Responsibilities
Designs and integrates multimedia audio/video equipment into existing, renovated, and new rooms within the College of Law, including video-conference systems (H.323) and lecture capture systems. Designs, programs, and manages network mixers, video/audio switchers, distribution systems, video-conference codecs, lecture capture systems, and other equipment, adhering to FSU standards and compatibility with existing systems. Supports, updates, and designs new functionality as needed for existing equipment within technology enhanced classrooms, equipment rooms, and other spaces.
Responsible for maximum uptime for all A/V equipment at the College of Law, which includes coordinating warranty and non-warranty repairs. Maintains and repairs existing audio/video systems, including general wiring and cabling, soldering, and repair of items such as projectors and other AV equipment. Researches and makes recommendations in purchasing new equipment/technology and/or updates to existing equipment. Performs product matching and compatibility research and testing.
Oversees all A/V and production needs for events at the College of Law, including setup of audio and video equipment, monitoring, and editing. Also responsible for post-production editing of video and audio using Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro, or other professional editing software.
Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of one USPS and 2-3 OPS positions. Creates and maintains documentation and procedures on all duties and A/V systems. Assists helpdesk with supporting faculty, staff, and students with computer or network issues, where needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; or a high school diploma/equivalent and four years of full-time work experience in video editing or production and audio mixing. (Note: Post high school education may substitute at the equivalent rate.)
Experience with video editing software and a Windows platform. Must be familiar with A/V equipment, to include: audio mixers, microphones, video cameras, projectors, monitors, and video conferencing equipment. Experience supervising employees.
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple work assignments is essential. Must be able to communicate effectively and develop working relationships with a wide variety of constituents, to include: co-workers, faculty, alumni, guests, and vendors.
Preferred
Experience with Crestron equipment, specifically Digital Media, is preferred. Prior experience designing classroom or conference room technology, and with project management. Familiarity with a variety of audio-visual product lines, as well as with maintaining equipment inventory is also preferred.
