CALI Conference 2010 Theme?

Hi folks,

The 20th Annual Conference for Law School Computing will be held at
the Rutgers School of Law | Camden on Thursday through Saturday, June
24-26, 2010.

The hotels have been reserved in Philadelphia and we will be posting
that information soon at www.cali.org/conference.

But today, I am looking for ideas for the conference theme. This is
the 20th conference (can you believe it?) and so we might do something
that honors the past, but I would rather do something more forward
thinking...

Here are some ideas to stimulate your thinking...

- Law School 2010: There's an App For That

- CALIConXX

- CALICon 2010: We Were Warned

- Law School IT: Commodity or Commode?

- 20 Years of Student Printing: A Retrospective

- CALI Conference 20: We Didn't Forget the Dot

I'm sure you can think of something better.

We are not quite ready to accept session proposals, so hold your fire
for the time being.

John

One real suggestion:

But I prefer:

CALI 2010: Let's Put the Sponsors Out of Business

CALI Conference 2010 Theme?

CALI 2010 Themes:

1 - What the Hell Were We Thinking?
2 - Who Are all These People?
3 - There is No Spoon
4 - Technology Moves Pretty Fast. If You Don't Stop and Look Around, You
Could Miss it

But my personal fave is:

Live Long and Persist. 20 Years of Building Momentum.

CALI Conference 2010 Theme?

No theme ideas off hand, but this was my idea for a graphic/logo - some
folks may have seen this after the end of this year's conference:

Annotation software

Is anyone using or can recommend annotation software? We are presently experimenting with single point touch screen displays for our classrooms, (OS Windows 7) and looking for annotation software that will:

· Integrate with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. (Saves annotation directly into documents, slides, spreadsheets)

· Annotate over any windows application including the desktop

· Easy capture and conversion to pdf.

The software packages we are currently evaluating are:

· Interwrite Workspace (so far out best option)

· Pointer (Geneva Logic)

· Notate It (Blade Software)

Any and all suggestions would be helpful

Thanks,

RE: Annotation software

This is a hardware/software combination, but SMART boards or sympodiums from SMART Technologies (http://smarttech.com) would do this. We have either a SMART board or sympodium in every classroom and use them in our courtrooms as well. I currently prefer the sympodiums over the boards, as they are a bit more flexible, and have much greater annotation accuracy/resolution.

Looking at SMART’s web site just now, it looks like they have many new products I wasn’t aware of, so I’ll have to look closer at another time.

Subject: [teknoids] Annotation software

Thanks,

We also use the SMART Podium (formerly Sympodium) in our classrooms; we
currently have four of the ID350s in production, and may be adding
another soon.

It looks like SMART is starting to enhance their software offerings, so
this functionality may be available separately from the hardware.

SCT Banner /Deposit Paid Periods and Online Payments

Hello Everyone,

If anyone is using SCT Banner, has two Deposit paid periods for their newly admitted students and allows for electronic payments online , can you contact me either on list or off list, or please give me a contact in your admissions department.

We currently have one deposit payment for newly admitted students but are looking to move to two deposit payments. As a result there are all sorts of implications about additional detailed codes, how you deal with late admitted students with two online deposit payments etc etc.

I will be out of state today, but I will be trying to check my e-mail during the day (and of course I will respond to you when I get back).

As always, I appreciate the help of the “CALI 2010-Camden Rocks” constituency. ☺

And for the old-timers...
