Course Scheduling Program
Good afternoon,
We are still using Excel to plan our courses for each semester. Is anyone using a course scheduling program?
Below are some of the parameters we are hoping a system will be able to consider:
1. Class subject matter/certificate program conflict avoidance
2. Avoiding conflicts between courses and their pre-requisites
3. Professor teaching preferences (both time of days, and days)
4. Professor timing considerations (can't have two class periods too close to each other)
5. Exam date conflict avoidance
6. Classroom size/enrollment expectation synch
7. First year course/LP conflict avoidance
Thank you so much for your feedback.

RE: Course Scheduling Program
Susie,
I'm pretty sure this topic is discussed in the archives...it seems to
come up regularly. You might also check with the NNLSO group...I'm
guessing that your Admissions officer or Registrar is a member.

RE: Course Scheduling Program
Thank you very much, Cindy. I saw an earlier discussion about room scheduling. We are looking for something more detailed than that.
Take care.

RE: Course Scheduling Program
Susie,
We have been testing ScheduleWhiz by Thoughtimus. A few of the folks on this list have recommended it a number of times through the years, and there was even a session on it at CALI-Con this year. So far our registrar likes it and will be using it for the spring semester.
