Subject: Call for Proposals for Fall 2009 SIGUCCS Conference
Dear Colleagues,
Be an active participant in the 2009 ACM SIGUCCS Fall Conference!
Submit a
proposal (in the form of short abstract of 150-250 words) for a
presentation,
panel, or poster session by March 1, 2009.
We invite you to join us in St Louis, Missouri, for the Association for
Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on University and
College
Computing Services' (SIGUCCS) 2009 Fall Conference! The conference is
being
held at The Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark, October 11 - 14, 2009 in
the heart
of downtown St. Louis with magnificent views of the St. Louis Arch and
the
brand new ballpark stadium! This year's Fall Conference
theme, "Communication, Collaboration" embodies the spirit of St. Louis.
Just as
Lewis and Clark collaborated on their journey west, and learned new ways
to
communicate with the native people, we will explore what communication
and
collaboration means in the ever changing world of college computing
services.
The conference is organized into six tracks:
Instructional Support
Training and Documentation
Management
Customer Support
Technology
Poster Session
Detailed descriptions for each track, along with a list of suggested
topics, is
available at the conference web site. We want to hear about what you are
working on and have accomplished; and, we want to hear from all size
institutions, big and small, private and public!
Submit an abstract for any of the following session formats by going to
http://plone3.siguccs.org/:
PRESENTATION: 30-40 minute presentation
PANEL: 30-40 minute presentation by multiple institutions on a
particular topic
POSTER SESSION: a visual display discussed during a two hour walk up
event
Why should you take the time to do this?
It is prestigious for your institution.
If accepted, you will become "published" and will be sharing valuable
information with colleagues from around the world.
In difficult economic times, it may also be easier for you to gain your
institution's support for the conference if you are presenting!
It looks great on a resume.
We are living in turbulent times but by working together, communicating
and
collaborating, we can discover the best solutions to the issues we face.
Meet
me in St. Louis!
