Job Announcement: Supervisory Librarian for temp to hire position at an academic library (New Orleans, LA)

LAC Group seeks a Supervisory Librarian to work at an academic library in New Orleans, LA. The Librarian will be responsible for administering all day-to-day operations of the library, analyzing the school's information and data needs, and coordinating with the IT Department about functionality of the digital resources in the library. This is a full time position through December or longer with a possibility of direct hire. This position will supervise 2 Library Associates and 6-10 student workers.

Responsibilities:

* Manages day-to-day operations of the library, including facilities and personnel
* Assists faculty, staff, and students with information retrieval needs
* Supports collection development and collection access cataloging process
* Plans and conducts user training and orientation sessions
* Communicates with administration, faculty, staff, and students
* Analyzes and evaluates existing electronic information resources and equipment, identifies enhancement opportunities
* Assumes other duties as required or requested whether or not specifically listed on this job description

Qualifications

* Experience with library automation, Web design, and computer databases
* ALA-accredited MLS
* Minimum of (2-3) relevant library experience
* Knowledge of business reference and online systems
* Cataloging and OCLC experience
* Working knowledge of Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters and other relevant business databases
* Familiarity with CRSP, IBES, WRDS a plus
