Jureeka Chrome Plugin

The LII has been adapting the Jureeka FF addon into a Google Chrome
plugin, but we have hit a snag. The original developer of the FF addon
has reported issues when trying to install the plugin in his Chrome
browser. We are not able to duplicate the problem, but want to be
thorough before submitting to Google.

If anyone could take a look and try installing the plugin in their own
Chrome browser, it would be greatly appreciated. We have both a
packaged and unpacked version posted, along with instructions for
installing/enabling both types.

http://www.law.cornell.edu/jureeka/download

and to 'quickly' test if the plugin is working ...
http://www.law.cornell.edu/jureeka/test

Thanks in advance,

Wayne

Jureeka Chrome Plugin

thanks for checking it out gang ... sounds like everyone was giving a
thumbs up, aside from *expected* bugs.

the spelling error aside, the 'that didnt work brian' pages are ones
where the regex possibly matched something incorrectly. for the
citations not immediately linkifying - the linking happens at page load
and, sadly, does use a lot of the browser memory (it will abandon
linking if it gets exhausted). we will get these last few bugs squashed
and looks like we can finally get it submitted.

thanks again,
wayne

Jureeka Chrome Plugin

Just checked the Chrome extensions page to see if the extension was
enabled. It is, but I noticed a spelling problem. On the extensions
page in the extension's heading next to the Enable check box, the
extension name is "Jukeeka!" In the following text, it's spelled
"Jukeera!".

Jureeka Chrome Plugin

On Chrome Version 19.0.1084.54 on OSX, the citations are linking (well, most of them). There are some that throw up (intentional?) error messages:

Well, Brian, that didn’t work, did it?

NULL
Array

Looks really promising,

i believe this one is from the change to the regex, but the production
resolver script is still using the 'old' database which does not have
the jureeka.com urls, but just double check to be sure please.

Jureeka Chrome Plugin

I am using Chrome Version 19.0.1084.52 m. The plugin installed, but
nothing was linkified on the test page.

Jureeka Chrome Plugin

OK, that was strange. I tried doing a search for a citation using the
Jureeka search, that worked. Then I went back and refreshed the test
page and, ta-da, the links where linkified. Is there some sort of lag
in Chrome activating an extension?

Same misbehavior and cure here testing on 64-bit Win7 and on 64-bit
Mint 11 (Ubuntu 11.04 derivative.) FWIW, I've never noticed any lag in
Chrome activating an extension before.

Jureeka Chrome Plugin

I installed the packed version. The LII logo is showing where it
should. But on the test page, *no string* is linkified.
