Online discussion & voting forum

Does anyone host an online forum for discussion and voting/expressions
of preference for their faculty?

Just curious.

RE: Online discussion & voting forum

Hi Phil,

We often set up discussion boards for faculty discussion of controversial issues. We have tried this in SharePoint, but faculty shy away from SharePoint. We have held several discussions in TWEN, and are moving to Lexis, because the Blackboard platform is more user-friendly.

We have to set up a "course," and have one for our Center for Innovations in Teaching and Learning. We then set up the discussion threads there.

Our voting generally takes place at faculty meetings. We have been using eInstruction CPS clickers for a couple of years and use them for voting in faculty meetings.

I hope this information is helpful.

Take care.
