RE: Loaner Laptops and Examsoft -- anyone have a policy statement?

Iowa is the same as USC. 5-6 years ago we had "crash laptops" but it became more of a hindrance than a help so we eliminated them.

We, also, do not loan or rent laptops, nor do we provide any other equipment (e.g., student leaves the power cord at home). Students are responsible for securing a laptop if theirs has problems.

We use Exam4, but that doesn't really matter here...we do not loan laptops from the library or anywhere else for students to use during exams. Students may borrow a laptop from anywhere else, but we don't give them one, nor take any responsibility for its operation.

Hi,

We are rolling out loaner laptops (yes, we're behind) through the law library next semester.

Does anyone have a policy statement they'd be willing to share regarding student use of an institution-owned machine for Examsoft? Waivers?

Thanks and Happy Merrry!
