For our first in-house clinic, we looked at a few of the commercial products out there, but found that they offered a bunch of features the students and faculty wouldn't use enough to justify their price tag. We ended up building a solution using Sharepoint (MOSS 2007, to be exact). It's basically a "Team Site" with subsites for time reporting functions (I hacked one of Microsoft's Application Templates to create this) and each individual case. It's not the cleanest setup, and it took a while to get the users up to speed with how to use Sharepoint (especially the document management aspects of it), but overall it's worked fairly well. I'm going to try to put together a presentation about it for CALI in June. If there's significant interest among this group, that would make a stronger case and give me a bit more impetus to get it done...

Good morning everyone,
Please kindly let me know which case management software is used at your school's legal clinic. We are currently using Amicus Attorney, but would like to see if there are better options out there.
Sincerely,
Jp :)
