RHEL Repos?

Teknoids,

I need to update a PHP install to 5.3.8 (or, I guess, 5.3.9) on RHEL
6.2, but neither the RHN nor EPEL repos have a version that new. Do any
of you know of a reputable repo where I could find an RPM/yum package
for it?

Thanks!

James

RE: RHEL Repos?

I forced an upgrade from PHP 5.1 to 5.1 on a RHEL box for my Drupal Web Site once, and all h3!! broke loose. We had to reload Apache a few times a week, because the site would white screen, and cause all kinds of other issues. Not saying this will happen, but be warned that with RHEL 5.x it really liked PHP 5.1. It may be different now, but be careful.

RHEL Repos?

James,

These instructions worked for 5.3.9 on CentOS 6.1 (not sure about 6.2):
http://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/2010/install-apache-php-on-fedora-cen
tos-red-hat-rhel/

Also not sure how reputable the "remi" repositories are, but it did
install and returned the appropriate stuff in phpinfo. I have not used
this in production.

Yeah, I saw the "if !1 0" instructions, but I have the same concern
about that repo. It always seems to come up #1 in the Google results,
but that doesn't necessarily mean anything...

RHEL Repos?

There's always Zend..

Its not always "fun", but it is a maintained repo.
