I have an important image that was saved on a portable hard drive when a
computer was to be reformatted.

The image is in the .bmp format and is now unreadable.

It is pretty important that I retrieve it, if possible. The file is the
correct size, 3.5 meg. The original copy is gone. A thousand other
images made it through the transition.

Any suggestions?
